MotionPlus is already out, and it costs $20 by itself. I've got no problem with a game requiring an extra peripheral if it improves the experience, though it's a definite plus if more than one game uses it. This reminds me of Donkey Kong 64 requiring the expansion pak to work.

Considering that Motion Plus is already announced to come included with some new Tiger Woods game, I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same for Zelda or some other first party game that comes out before that. If not, it'll probably only run $10-15 like the wheel accessory if it's cheap enough to come as a pack-in.

To be honest, I don't really understand the complaint about the Wii having a constant stream of add-ons. There's the nunchuck which you get one of with the system, the classic controller which isn't entirely necessary but nice to have, and the wheel which comes packaged in with most of the games that require it (ExciteBots, Mario Kart). My only other accessory is the Perfect Shot gun, and that was cheaper than light guns in the past.

There really isn't a lot of extra cost unless you're buying a lot of each for friends to use, and if that's the case make them pay for it themselves. The only downside is if you're a lazy bastard and don't want to bother attaching the right thing when you turn on a game.

Indeed. Nintendo are in too strong a position, they don't need to drop the price because people are still snapping them up (though I think their slightly iffy drag on supply has something to do with that; savvy business work perhaps, but it continues to strike me as a bit off). As for games, well I'm not really sure what's on the horizon for the Wii that looks all that interesting.

I pretty much agree with exactly everything you said. I once entertained the thought of purchasing a Wii, but seeing how it has evolved over its lifespan has instead removed it completely off my radar. After a price drop and a few more interesting games I might once again consider it, but I can't see either of those things happening anytime soon.
